Spin-Offs Continue to Outperform the Market

The Bloomberg US Spin-Off Index (BN SPIN) ended the quarter at 309.05. The Spin Index has appreciated 19.39% versus 8.24% for the S&P 500 year-to-date (as of June 30), beating the market by 11%.  The Bloomberg US Spin-Off Index is a modified market capitalization weighted index that contains equities that were spun-off from the top US companies. The spins remain a member of the index for a three year period from the first trading date.
